Conservatives keep accusing "socialist" societies of eventually becoming one big unsustainable giveaway, comprised of "takers" and "responsible" tax-payers. And yet isnt a society which continuosly cuts taxes, whittling away at the support for government equally unsustainable?

How much of the negative campaigning in America can be attributed to the nasty political atmosphere, and how much can be attributed to the WASP cultures distaste for boasting? After all, if it's less frowned upon to talk bad about your opponent than it is to glorify yourself, why not?

When the standard route to power is money, and 80% of the population holds only 7% of the nations wealth, you have to consider that those with little or no money will be forced to take alternate roads.

If achieving your goals involves other people doing all the work, you're probably a rich asshole. Unless you're poor; then you're just an asshole.
How much money does the average company waste while making things uselessly pretty for management and visiting VIPs?

That may be someone else's thought, honestly.
Do the "Job Creators" and other oligarchs in this country see us as children? Is that why they get so upset with us when we seem to be "ungrateful" for the pitiful allowance they give us?

You need conservatives to keep progressives from going faster than society can handle. American conservatives, though, seem to be focused on the wrong thing.
In Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Gimme Two Steps", the angry guy is angry at the wrong person, unless the woman is somehow labeled with the Angry Guy's name.
